Training in Whatcom County

We are committed to spreading the experience and methodology of adventure education to as many people as possible. We believe once you have experienced the Challenge model, you will almost instantly begin finding ways to incorporate it into your own programs. The benefits are tangible! We have a tiered training program for facilitators that helps assure confidence and competence.

The average cost for a group to visit the 4-H low ropes course for a day is $300. Individuals and organizations that feel they may incorporate the Challenge methodology into their programming are encouraged to acquire facilitation training. Once you have trained your own facilitator you can reduce the cost of a day on the course by $100. Once your facilitator has reached Lead Proficiency, and if you add another apprentice, you can use the course without paying facilitation fees.

Facilitator training is available annually for each of the programs offered, pending sufficient demand. Minimum group training size is 8.

Teachers: clock hours are available for each of these trainings.
