Creating a Vision for Afterschool Partnerships
af·ter·school (āf'tər-skōōl') adj. - a term that applies to the wide variety of programs that serve children and youth during non-school or out-of-school-time hours. Out-of-school time refers to the time children spend outside the classroom and includes time before school, afterschool, during the weekend, holidays and summertime.
a·lign·ment (ə-lin´mənt) n. - refers to creating afterschool programs that build on the learning goals for youth, addressing the goals of the school and participating community, while maintaining a degree of flexibility capable of meeting the social, emotional and recreational needs of young learners.
