Nooksack
Elementary’s Club P.A.C.E. was started in the 2004-2005 school year with
funding from a 21st Century Learning Centers Grant. Club P.A.C.E. is
open to 4th and 5th graders who have participated in any
other academic or enrichment after-school program at Nooksack Elementary School.
The primary
goals of this program are:
·
Development
of leadership and communication skills
·
Understanding
civics—working in a democratic environment/society
·
Enhancement
of goal setting and fulfillment
·
Broadening
students understanding of computers/technology
The Club
typically meets after-school on Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:30 and has a total
enrollment of about 7 students. The club members choose the student leadership
and the first half of the meeting is run by the students themselves. The second
half of the meeting is designated for project time and is guided by the club
leader.
The primary
focus of this Club is working with and learning about technology. Our first
project focused on creating a power point presentation. The rest of the year has
been spent learning about basic web page design, the result of which is the
very web page you are viewing right now.
