“Fast Track to Success” is accepting applications for the 2008 4-H Summer Teen Conference, June 29-July 1, 2008, at WSU in Pullman Washington.

Our goal is to provide fun workshops that deliver tools and skills to help teens identify and achieve their goals and document positive youth development impacts. Each 4-H Teen Conference educational offering and activity should be experiential “hands on” and should incorporate one of the four Essential Elements of youth development AND one of the three national 4-H Missions Mandates. Presentation fall on Monday, June 30. Workshop sessions are planned for the morning and afternoon. Please note the focus and time allotment for each and select which is the best fit for your proposal.

One hour workshops focused on success building skills: college, careers, life skills, leadership, and/or independence.

Two hour workshops focused on exploration and adventure: may include WSU departments, new or creative subject mastery, or physical adventure.

Audience will include 4-H teens and teen from other youth development organizations grades 8th-12th (summer 2008)

Each Teen Conference educational offering and activity should be experiential "hands on" and will incorporate one of the four Essential Elements of youth development AND one of the three national 4-H Mission Mandates.

The 2008 Washington State Teen Conference will:

1. Offer opportunities for teens from across Washington to come together to engage in educational programs applicable to their lives;

2. Promote positive adult and teen partnerships through the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages;

3. Include interactive and hands-on educational sessions, displays, and programs;

4. Feature nationally known speakers, university faculty, staff and students, community members, and 4-H members as presenters; and

5. Promote and recognize successful 4-H programs and activities conducted on the local, state, and national levels.
