This guide focuses on the basic knowledge needed to have fun
and be successful in the Sportfishing project. Youth will learn
the basics of knot tying and casting, what type of tackle to
use, how the aquatic environment can affect the fish populations,
and some of the interactions between people and fish habitat.

This guide challenges youth to make connections between all the concepts
presented in the Sportfishing project. Activities include: learning
the basic types of casting, making tackle, understanding the biological
needs of fish and analyzing the relationship between fishing regulations
and environmental concerns.
