Objectives & Materials:

  • learn and apply recommended principles of rabbit production
  • demonstrate a knowledge of sound breeding, feeding, and management practices
  • identify types and varieties of rabbits and employ efficient marketing methods
  • develop integrity, sportsmanship, decision making capability, and public speaking skills through participation in demonstrations, tours, judging, and exhibits
  • appreciate the value of rabbits in scientific research
  • practice leadership skills and roles, take part in community affairs, and demonstrate citizenship responsibility
  • explore career, job, and productive leisure opportunites
  • develop lifelong skills, knowledge and attitudes
  • learn to use accepted practices for mental, physical, and emotional health, and to respect yourself and others

PNW0163 - Your 4-H Rabbit Project
Topics include: rabbit project, all about rabbits and the different breeds, equipment needed, care and feeding of, breeding and care of young, rabbit management, marketing and dressing, activities, showmanship, and a glossary of rabbit-related terms.
