Transformational Leadership

The acts of leadership are rich with rewards and challenges. The theories of leadership are vast.

Transformational Leadership strives to connect a participant’s sense of identity to group projects and the collective identity of the organization; it promotes group ownership of vision, accomplishments and challenges. Another way of defining “transformational” leadership is that it is the leadership of active change: it identifies, empowers, develops and sustains leaders.

The 4-H Youth Development encourages the positive development of youth-adult partnerships and youth voice in decision making. Young people have passion, energy and vision to contribute to their communities, and they serve as reminder to adults that growth and change are the constant.

The goal of the Leadership Academy is to provide adults and teen leaders opportunities to engage in experiential practices (learning by doing), to discover new and lasting theories of leadership, and to build organizational capacity that embraces positive youth development.

Workshops, book circles, and group outings can be tailored to your organizational needs.
