Local CSA Farms

Community Supported Agriculture

Whatcom County is fortunate to have several CSA farms serving local consumers through the June—October produce season. Produce for their shares will include fruit (berries, cherries, nectarines, peaches, melons, etc.), broccoli, basil, beets, corn, cucumbers, garlic, green beans, carrots, celery, kale, lettuce, onions, potatoes, salad mix, tomatoes, zucchini, and winter squash.

Shareholders can pick up shares on Wednesday at the K&M farm stand or the Wednesday Farmers Market, or on Saturday at the Bellingham Farmers Market. Season Runs: 20 weeks

The Growing Garden is in their second year of offering a slightly different approach to a standard CSA box. Using the Internet, they email a weekly selection of herbs and vegetables to their shareholders and allow them to select the quantities and varieties that suit them.

Located seven miles north of Bellingham in the Laurel area, the Growing Garden is a five-acre certified organic family farm. They have been raising organic herbs and vegetables in What-com County for the past 18 years. Shares can be picked up directly at the farm or at the Bellingham Farmers Market. They ask for an initial $100 pre-payment and then will bill at the end of each month, depending on the amount purchased.
